Stuck in the Cosmos

Big Tent Poetry's prompt was all about being stuck somewhere (literally or figuratively.)  The March Challenge wanted to see work on the topic of the cosmos.  Here's both in one short but sweet Rime Royal - and just so you know - I am celebrating the joy of imagination that lives in all of us.

Cosmos in Color

“Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it we go nowhere.” ~Carl Sagan

How unutterably dull the world would be
if we had to live in that world with a lack
of imagery, vision, dreamscape and esprit,
in a place that at once is gray, white and black
but no cobalt or fuchsia.  Taken aback
we would be, sans vibrant improvisation…
as if stranded without imagination.

Have a terrific weekend!  March 20th is the first day of Spring - so enjoy!

  1. Oh to be stranded without imagination would be dreadful.

Beautiful dream-like feel to this piece, like I was truly lost in space!

  9. This makes a wonderful poem of wonder and joy of the imagination. I'm glad you have that gift. The maples bent over
    with interest and ice.

  10. Wonderful rhyming, flows well and I so agree. A world without color would be a dreary place.
