Singing the blues and other stories

Today's poems are whiny - or whingey - if you prefer the somewhat obsolete version of the word, per Websters' Dictionary of 1913.  Poetic Asides gave a prompt on Wednesday (Yeah, I know.  I'm late.) of, 'One of these days...'  SiS/Few Miles' prompt for today was 'Faith' and finally, Big Tent Poetry was all about the blues and how to get rid of that which ails you.  Here goes...

Blue

I truly cherish blue.
It’s my favorite color
so any other hue
seems to me much duller.

I do not wish to rid
myself of bluish tinge
because if rid I did,
I’d be so blue I’d whinge.

A Spectre of Success

One of these days,
(in a future life, I guess?)
my book might get published
and be a success.
For now, I've accepted
that people seem smitten
with books by celebs
that are often ghost written.

Murphy Strikes Again

Ya gotta have faith…
…anything that can’t go wrong
without a doubt, will.

  7. Wonderful poems. Blue is my favorite color! And in my music, I enjoy a melancholy melody. I wouldn't want to live without either blue.

  10. Barbara - thanks! And truth be told, although theoretically there's a 50/50 chance of butter up OR down, for reasons unknown, butter down seems to win. ☼
