Fried
There’s nothing that can get a
rise
from folks like crispy (ummm!)
French fries.
That über tuber tater tot?
It’s one fast food we like a
lot.
And yes, in Britain, ‘chips’
they’re called.
No matter, since we’re still
enthralled
by shoestrings, crinkles and
whatnot.
It’s one fast food we like a
lot.
They even made a stamp (above
↑)
to honor fried potato-love.
With burgers, it just hits the
spot.
It’s one fast food we like a
lot.
There’s nothing that can get a
rise…
It’s one fast food we like a
lot.

Notes: I found a cool website called Viridian's Postcard Blog whose weekend post was all about food-themed postage stamps. Although their 'Mr. Linky' was already closed by the time of my 'discovery' of this site (yesterday), I was curious and began searching for a few images of those food-themed postage stamps. In the end, I found a number of them from a diverse assortment of countries. A couple of them had some really interesting artwork, but the stamp above was the one that 'fried' or rather, 'fired' my imagination.
The form, as has been for the last few days, is Kyrielle Sonnet.
UPDATE: Theme Thursday's prompt this week is 'produce.' Since the über tuber tater tot is (in its original form) a form of produce, I'm gonna be lazy and give 'em this one. ☼
Salty French Fries + Ketchup=Heaven.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
"über tuber tater tot" - I like that.
ReplyDeleteAnd I like chips instead if fries - you have to have the contrast of crisp skin and fluffy innards. Fries are all crisp and no fun.
I love the stamp and your verse.
ReplyDeleteuber tober tater tot...ha...i like...and i like my fries as well...a mix of ketchup and hot sauce on the side...mmm...
ReplyDeleteBuddah - ummmm...I love 'em with lots of salt and ketchup too. Or else with malt vinegar. Serious yumness!
ReplyDeleteJ. Cosmo - thanks! I was hoping someone would like that. *grin* Also, although my family all think I'm nuts, I prefer my fries not quite crispy. (Yeah - I like 'em salty and a bit soggy.) ☼
ReplyDeletePostcardy - thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteBrian - thank you. And hot sauce? Never thought about it on fries, but I'll have to think about it now. ☼
ReplyDeleteIt is funny to think of life without French fries, something almost impossible for most of us in this day and age. Although I cannot think of a uber tuber dish that I have disliked.
ReplyDeleteI really like your verse and that stamp is really neat and something I have not seen.
Thank you so much for sharing it for this weeks Theme Thursday Produce. Will be interesting to see what you do next week.
God bless.
Mrsupole - wow! Thanks for your nice words. This was definitely a fun prompt!
