What a Trip!

Tripping

Shoes left
in the middle
of the floor…forgotten…
until the middle of the night:
Dark.  Ouch!

  1. Great construction within form, RJ; and the story you tell is painfully accurate!

  6. Good job. My husband does this to me all the time. :)

I stopped by to thank you for your Amy Winehouse limerick. I'm so glad you're a part of my weekly Limerick-Offs!

  7. Thanks, Madeleine. As soon as I saw your prompt, that was the thing that came to mind. Usually I try to write humorous, but at that moment, I couldn't.

I was a fan, and although her death is considered a cautionary tale by some, it's still tragic and saddening, nonetheless.

(And then after I wrote that poem, I had to go for a couple more in the insipid and silly category.)

Your site is a wonderful and welcome respite. Sometimes, what we really need is the release that only humor can bring.
