Messin’ With the Messenger, Ambiguously

"A messenger cannot be beaten.” ~Luyia proverb, Western Kenya

“I had to eat my words.” ~Unknown

Messengers transport
the words,  but if news is bad
they might get eaten.

(Note: the prompt is from Sunday Scribblings.  The word is 'messenger.')

  5. Was it the Bond films where messages had to be eaten or disposed of before they exploded! I know this is not a literal exploration but now words are rarely written on paper can we still eat them at all? My keyboard looks too crunchy..thanks for making me :) Jae
