The Braggarts of August

Hi there!  Just got back from a wonderful family vacation up at Cape Cod.  It was a lot of fun.  Vacations always seem to go so fast, don't you think?  And yet, it always feels so nice to come back home.

I took a ton of cool and awesome photos (not to brag or anything...) so I will probably be using several of them as my own personal prompts in the near future.  But in the meantime, here's a bit of writing to another (and seriously terrific) blogger's prompt...

Mad Kane is a hilarious writer, whose short form poetry (mostly limericks and haiku) tackle news, social issues, politics and - of course - humor.  Every week, she runs a Limerick-Off on her site Mad Kane's Humor Blog, where she supplies the opening to the poem, and adventurous poets are invited to finish the verse, posting their responses in the comment section.

This week, the opening is ''A fellow who tended to brag...' (or 'A woman who tended to brag...')

Here are my entries.

Pride Goeth Before a Fall-Fashion Handbag…

A woman who tended to brag
all about her ‘Kate Spade’ shoulder bag
discovered…a fraud!
Yes, she saw it was flawed:
the name was misspelled on the tag.

Air Bag

A fellow who tended to brag
how he never endured real jet lag
found his boast did unravel -
by plane, he’d not travel.
The closest he came?  An air bag.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a humorous day.  ☼

Gaspacho:
Viable treatment;

Notes:  Three Word Wednesday provided today's prompt of 'gasp, mute and viable.'  The form is, once again, Hay[Na]Ku.  I couldn't resist, even though I am well aware of the fact that puns are the lowest form of humor - especially the bathroom kind.  Oh well.

Forward Thinking

Move
forward…backward…
and just dance.

###
Notes:  The form, once again, is Hay[Na]Ku.  Sunday Scribblings provided the word prompt today of 'forward.'  I found the above picture on BibliOdyssey - and from those bits of cool inspiration, I could easily move forward, write...and just dance.

In keeping with the Hay[Na]Ku fun and games, here are a few possible suggestions for captions on the above photograph, kindly provided for by Sepia Saturday.
